What can we learn from the COVID pandemic? As an unbiased medical doctor – without any political affiliations – I observed COVID-19 pandemic as a true scientist.
Here is a list of lessons that I learned from this pandemic.
Winners And Losers of The COVID Pandemic
The biggest winner of the pandemic: Pharmaceutical industry, biotech industry, hospitals, Amazon.com, and Zoom.com. The biggest loser: Humanity all over the world.
Fear Sells
Physicians as well as the public lost their logic and common sense due to unprecedented fear propagated by the governments, medical organizations and news media. Immersed in fear, they blindly followed the recommendations from medical authorities. Dr. Fauci, WHO, FDA, NIH, to name a few.
Authoritarian Recommendations That Did Not Work
Medical establishment gave the following recommendations: Wash your hands insanely around the clock, keep a distance of 6 feet from every other human being. If you get COVID, wait and see if symptoms get worse, then go to the hospital. There was no mention of how to improve your immune system to fight off the infection in its trenches.
Another big message was to wait for the vaccines, as if that would be the ultimate answer. All these guidelines from world authorities did not make any difference to stop the spread of COVID-19, as we all know. Finally, vaccines became available at the end of 2020 and mass vaccinations started. However, it did not make any difference in preventing the spread of infection, neither did it make any significant difference in the mortality. The worldwide rates of COVID infection were highest during the first three months of 2022, after a whole year of mass vaccinations.1
Side-effects of Vaccines
On the other hand, there were common side-effects from the COVID-Vaccines. These side-effects were short term as well as long term. Harmful side-effects included deaths, severe neurological disabilities, cardiac malfunction, and autoimmune disorders2 . But medical authorities continued to claim that vaccines are safe and effective. These organizations continued to strongly recommend the use of these vaccines. Finally the virus weakened significantly due to the natural history of pandemics. Then, it emerged as the Omicron strain in November , 2021. It did not cause any serious disease. But medical authorities continued to strongly recommend vaccines although it was scientifically evident that the Omicron variant dodged its recognition by the vaccines.3
Medical Arrogance and Ignorance
There was a prevailing sense of arrogance – and hence ignorance – among doctors all over the world. Medical doctors treated COVID-19 infection like any other infection, although it was apparent – from the beginning – that it was a novel virus causing multiple organ damage of a kind never seen before.
Unnecessary Assisted Ventilation
For example, this novel virus caused severe pneumonia would get worse with assisted ventilation. But physicians continued to treat this novel pneumonia with the old parameter of low oxygen saturation. They continued to put patients on ventilators with the old mindset. As a result, lungs would rupture and patients would die. In fact, many deaths could have been prevented if physicians did not blindly follow the old medical guidelines. It would be a while before a few brave and truly scientific physicians changed their practice. They would no longer follow follow the age-old guidelines. The results were amazing. They started to see that less ventilators meant less deaths. According to an excellent study, risk of mortality in COVID patients on ventilators was 70% higher in March 2020, compared with November 2020.”4
Common Sense Prevails
People who were proactive and took matters into their own hands using common sense did much better than those who simply followed the medical authorities approach of “Wait And See.” They used sensible available information – mostly on the internet from independent physicians – on how to improve the immune system. For example, vitamin D was shown to significantly reduce the risk of COVID severity and mortality.5 Similarly Zinc supplement was shown to reduce mortality from COVID. 6 However, government authorities as well as medical establishments such as Ivy League universities – through their websites – continued to dissuade people from using any supplements.
The Most Common Cause Of Atmospheric Pollution
What is the root cause of atmospheric pollution: Learn from the COVID Pandemic which gave us an unprecedented opportunity to see the real cause of atmospheric pollution. As we all know there was a worldwide lock-down for a couple of months in the spring of 2000. As a part of this lock-down, all air flights (except a few emergency flights) were halted. There was also a reduction in the number of motor vehicles on the roads. However, you would still see a significant number of cars on the roads, at least in major cities. In addition, a few factories were shut down.
We all know how most of the atmospheric pollution simply disappeared. As a result, many people saw a clear blue sky – in countries like China and India – they had not seen in years.
It is pretty clear that air flights are a significant contributor to atmospheric pollution, something that most so-called experts on atmospheric pollution do even mention.
Another Pandemic Is Around The Corner
There is compelling scientific evidence that the novel coronavirus that caused COVID-19 was a man-made virus at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. 7 It was a product of “Gain of function” research. It is a type of research in which unethical scientists manipulate the DNA of a virus to make it more dangerous to humans. Many virologists vocalized against this type of research as they feared something like COVID-19 could happen. Under pressure from these conscientious virologists, the US government put a ban on “Gain Of Function” research in October 2014,8 but this ban was lifted on December 19, 2017.9 And COVID-19 pandemic started in 2019.
“Gain Of Function Research” Is Still In High Gear
Shockingly, this horrific research is still going on.10 It is clear some unethical, evil-minded, greed-driven scientists are not willing to stop their ambitious research even after seeing what COVID-19 did to humanity. Sadly, none of the governments have taken any steps to prohibit this type of research. To me, the writing is on the wall: another pandemic is in the making.
What Can You Do?
Immune system – and not the vaccines – is our best defense against any infection. Why? Because it kills viruses and other microorganisms without causing any long-term side-effects as most vaccines do. In addition to dealing with infections, our immune system is also well-equipped to kill cancer cells.11 Therefore, keep your immune system in good shape as we will continue to face a variety of viruses, natural as well as man-made.
Keep your immune system healthy

STRESS MANAGEMENT
Stress is known to wreak havoc on our immune system. Therefore, it is extremely important to manage your stress on a daily basis. First of all, discover the root cause of stress. Only when you uproot it from its roots, stress stays miles away from you. I did exactly that on an evening in January of 2005 and I have been stress free since then. NUTRITION
Proper nutrition is important for nourishing our entire body including the immune system. Do not follow any extreme diet. Use common sense and listen to your body about the quantity and quality of food. It is not that difficult. Just remember, “Eat for physiological reasons and not for psychological and conceptual reasons.” By the way, there is an entire chapter in my book , “Stress Cure Now” on “Eating As An Addiction,” and how to be free of it.
EXERCISE – SLEEP
Exercise can be a great way to reduce your stress. But it can also increase your stress. For example, you can reduce your stress by taking a morning or evening walk by yourself without any earbuds streaming some music. Or you can increase your stress by playing a sport where your mindset is to win the game. You get excited when you win, and feel worthless if you lose. Both excitement and worthlessness trigger chemicals in your body (adrenaline, cortisol) which weaken your immune system.
Adequate amount of restful sleep is so important for the health of our entire body including immune system. Always remember, whenever you don’t get enough sleep, you harm your entire body including your immune system. Why do you think, many people catch Cold, COVID etc when they are traveling? Getting exposed to virus is only part of the story. Stress of traveling is the other part you don’t think about. Just imagine stress created by the airports, air flights, rental cars and hotels, and rental apartments and houses. Above all, the money you have to cough up for these expenses. In addition, your eating habits are usually quite toxic when you are traveling.
VITAMINS AND MINERALS
Health of our immune system in part depends on the adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals. In the ideal world, we should be able to get all vitamins and minerals through our diet and sun-exposure. But reality is we don’t get enough vitamins and mineral due to our lifestyle. For example, you have to be outdoors – in your swimsuit- for at least 4 hours a days if you are white, and many more if your skin is brown or black to get enough vitamin D from sun. Another example, commercial farming, warehouse-storage and cooking practices renders food low in many vitamins and minerals. On top of that, you may be vegan or vegetarian which also makes you low vitamin B12 , iron and Zinc. These examples are just of iceberg of how our modern lifestyle causes deficiencies of many vitamins and minerals.
So, what is the solution?
From a practical standpoint, take vitamins and minerals but only from a reputable manufacturer. For this reason, I decided to formulate and manufacture vitamins for my patients some 20 years back. Now those are available to general public.

In Summary
We can learn a lot from COVID pandemic but our medical establishment as well as politicians learn what they want to learn. I have made some purely scientific, unbiased, and non-political observations about lessons from the pandemic. At the end of the day, we are responsible for taking charge of our health. We can fight off any infection – including any future pandemic – if we keep our immune system healthy.
