Original Art Versus Copy Art
In general, original art is what an artist creates for the first time. Any subsequent copies or reprints are replicas and not the original art work.1
However, if you look deeper, most of the art paintings are what we can call “Copy Art.” The artist acquires a lot of knowledge about the art of painting. Many also go through rigorous training at the art institutes. With the background of all the knowledge and techniques, the artist comes up with a painting. In this way, it is a copy of the knowledge that already existed. That’s why we can call it “Copy Art.”
Original art, on the other hand does not recycles the already-existed knowledge and techniques. It can come out of the fresh mind that has not gone to art schools. Dr. Zaidi is one such artist. He paints only when painting is arising inside and he lets it out on the canvas without any inhibitions.
