Diet Soda Is Quite Harmful To Your Health
Many people think it is safe to drink diet soda. Think again!
A number of scientific studies show a relationship between diet-soda consumption and a number of serious health issues such as weight gain, type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
In one such study, researchers from San Antonio, Texas, observed a striking relatinship between diet soda consumption and abdominal obesity.
In a study from Japan, researchers investigated the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes among 2,037 employees of a factory in Japan over a 7-year period. They concluded that consuming diet soda was significantly associated with the increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
Another study comes from Mayo Clinic, U.S., in which researchers concluded a statistically significant associations between both sugar and artificially sweetened soda consumption and risk of developing high blood pressure.
In summary, don't be fooled by the marketing tactics by the soda-industry. Soda - regular as well as diet one- is bad for your health. Make a healthy choice and switch to water as your beverage of choice.
